Katie Turner

Catherine KatalinicKatie graduated in 2018 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in New York City. Since graduation Katie has been working in a musculoskeletal outpatient practice in the United States before her recent relocation to Perth where she continues to pursue a career in private practice.

Katie has a variety of interests within physiotherapy. She has completed further training and certifications in Women’s Health, including bowel and bladder incontinence, prolapse, pre and postpartum pain and rehabilitation, as well as pelvic, SIJ and coccyx pain.

Katie has completed further post graduate training and certifications in advanced manual therapy techniques including Active Release, Myofascial Release, Spinal Manipulation and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM) Techniques.

She has extensive experience utilising Dry Needling on a variety of complaints and injuries. Katie has completed numerous advanced Dry Needling technique courses and has developed a deep understanding of the application and benefit of these techniques to optimize her patient’s recovery.

During her time working in the USA, Katie gained considerable practice working with vestibular and balance related dysfunctions, including recovery from BPPV. She is excited to bring her knowledge and experience gained in the treatment of BPPV over here to Perth.

Immediately after graduating, Katie pursued a comprehensive certification in Rehabilitative Pilates and has completed full Pilates Teacher Training Certification through Polestar Pilates in Miami. Before relocating to Perth Katie was working with a specialized Pilates-Based Rehab Team in Fort Myers, Florida, and was integral in the establishment of their Pelvic Health Program.

Katie is most passionate about using her Pilates training and expertise to personalize treatments for a variety of patient populations from sport related injuries, to women’s health and pre/postpartum issues, to patients with chronic pain, hypermobility and postural pain disorders.

In her spare time Katie enjoys running and participating in Pilates classes for her own personal wellness. Katie also enjoys working with the Australian states and national underwater hockey sports teams during their national and international competitions.
